Welcome to Ravenswood UCC

Ravenswood UCC is practicing hybrid worship on Sundays at 10:30 am. We gather in-person for worship following city and CDC guidelines. People can chose to still social distance and wear masks as you are comfortable. Services are streamed online via Facebook Live. Our Sunday services are simple and joyful, with music that rings of tradition, and preaching that speaks to the issues of today.

Ravenswood’s worship style is traditionally Protestant, with services lasting about an hour. We celebrate communion on the first Sunday of every month and all are welcome at the table Christ sets for us.

Join us in our beautiful sanctuary or on Facebook Live Sundays at 10:30 am. Children and families, singles and couples, young and old, gay and straight, people of all colors, shapes and sizes are welcome.

At Ravenswood UCC, We…

Worship on Sunday

We gather each week to worship God, to hear a good sermon, to listen to world-class music, to pray, and to come together as friends and neighbors. Service begins at 10:30. Our doors are always open to you!

Serve the Community

We volunteer at The Common Pantry and help the homeless through The Night Ministry. We work for an end to violence, racism and poverty with the Community Renewal Society.

Have Fun

While our focus is obviously worship and service, we're also a congregation that loves to have fun. Whether it's at a church event like our Oktoberfest, or hosting a circus show in our gym, our congregation knows how to have a good time.

Christmas Eve Worship Service!

Tuesday, December 24th is when Ravenswood UCC will celebrate the birth of our lord, Jesus. Worship will be at 8:00 PM and will be filled with wonderful Christmas carols, readings and a special sermon given by Rev. Peter McQueen.

It’s tradition at Ravenswood to hold worship on Christmas Eve. It’s hoped members and friends will spend the time with families on Christmas Day, the holy day when our Lord was born.

Luke says in Chapter 2:

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy,

which shall be to all people.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.

If you are looking for a place to worship in the Ravenswood neighborhood, please join us on the 24th as the faithful gather to worship. The service will also be broadcast on our Facebook page. Join us on site or online.

A Prayer for Christmas Eve, by Robert Louis Stevenson

Loving Father, help us remember the birth of Jesus, that we may share in the song of the angels, the gladness of the shepherds, and worship of the wise men. Close the door of hate and open the door of love all over the world. Let kindness come with every gift and good desires with every greeting. Deliver us from evil by the blessing which Christ brings, and teach us to be merry with clear hearts. May the Christmas morning make us happy to be thy children, and Christmas evening bring us to our beds with grateful thoughts, forgiving and forgiven, for Jesus’ sake. Amen.

O holy night! The stars are brightly shining;
It is the night of the dear Savior’s birth.
Long lay the world in sin and error pining,
Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope- the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn!
Fall on your knees! O hear the angel voices!
O night divine, O night when Christ was born!
O night, O holy night, O night divine!
