Welcome to Ravenswood UCC
Our worship is simple and joyful, with organ music that rings of tradition, and preaching that speaks to the issues of today. Join us Sundays at 10:30 am. Children and families, singles and couples, young and old, gay and straight, people of all colors, shapes and sizes are welcome.
Our worship style is traditionally Protestant, with services that last about an hour. We celebrate communion on the first Sunday of every month and all are welcome at the table Christ sets for us. Children are included in worship through a “Children’s Message” and excused for Sunday School about halfway through the service. Nursery care for infants to five years of age is available for those who seek it, but a crying baby has never made our worship less joyous.
St. Theresa of Avila wrote in the 14th century that,
“God has no hands but our hands.”
At Ravenswood UCC we take that as our mission – to be the visible love of God in this time and in this place for all of the children of God.
At Ravenswood We
Worship on Sunday
We gather each week to worship God, to hear the word proclaimed, to sing, to pray, and to come together as friends and neighbors. Everyone is welcome to join us. Service begins at 10:30. Our doors are always open to you!
Serve the Community
We volunteer at The Common Pantry and the Lincoln Square Friendship Center, we help the homeless through The Night Ministry, and we work for an end to violence and poverty through social transformation.
While our focus is (obviously) worship and service, we're also a congregation that loves to have fun. Whether it's at a church event like our Oktoberfest party, a youth group outing, or heading out to catch a ball game - our congregation is an exciting group to be a part of.
